I was told this place has the best BBQ pork in Winnipeg. Now coming from Toronto, I know and have had excellent BBQ pork before, but haven't had one nearly as spectacular so far in the city. I was finally recommended this place by a local who's my mom's friend.
Let me begin to say that the 4-star is for the BBQ pork relative to other places I've tried in Winnipeg. Have I had better? Yes, nothing can compare to the goodness of BBQ pork in some places in the GTA. However, for Winnipeg standards, this place is probably top of the food chain.
I had the BBQ pork with rice. For over $10 it was definitely more expensive than what I'm usually accustomed to, but I guess being in a city with limited BBQ pork options they kinda are able to charge a bit higher.
Seating is limited. I recommend ordering take out from here. Don't expect much in terms of service here too, it's run-n-gun style. Once you're done, slap the bill and you're out of here.
Even though I heard rumours that the BBQ pork quality has gone down here, I still think it's the best in Winnipeg. Because of that I will still come back if I crave BBQ pork and can't afford a 2.5 hour flight back to Toronto. -

I've been coming here since I was a kid. This place has the most flavorful and juicy BBQ pork I've ever had! I always compare other restaurants' BBQ pork to this restaurant's!
This place is easy to miss if you blink and tiny with only about 10 tables. It is a dive, but sometimes the best food come from these type of places. This place definitely has that.
Another favorite dish of mine is the steamed white chicken over rice. The chicken is always cooked perfectly, and is juicy and tender. The ginger/onion sauce compliments the chicken and gives the whole dish such an elevated flavor.
The owners/staff have become such good friends over the years. They treat all their customers like family and make sure everyone has a great meal and time. -

This is not fancy dining by any means. It's a bit of a hole in the wall - family run. They are best known for their Chinese style BBQ meat dishes. They make all the typical Chinese food dishes but come beee for a big portion of char siu (BBQ pork) and the streamed chicken with the delicious ginger sauce. You can get half and half like I did and I think they just add $1 or $2 for that. Think my generous portion of half BBQ pork and steamed chicken with rice was about $13. I split it over two dinners. The BBQ pork is slightly sweeter than others but moist and so good. The steamed chicken was succulent and so addictive with the ginger sauce (ask for some extra). Service was nice and friendly.

The restaurant space is too small. Waitress who served our table was quite unfriendly, she seems rush to get things done. And she asked my friend to pack her food when she's still eating. One of my friends told me they have the best Chinese BBQ food in WPG , but no! Everything was too salty! Very disappointed!
